After 7 years, the government’s advisors to Maths education have realised what we at Lewes New School know already! One of the leading principles behind setting up the Lewes New School was not to test the children. By rigorous and continual monitoring of the children’s learning, the teachers at the school are able to assess the progress being made. And the pupils are creating their own goals and setting their own targets, which enables them to be even more engaged and inspired by their own learning.
