What a first day back we had, our class was taken over by ghosts, ghouls, vampires, skeletons, super hero lizard folk and witches… spooky! We made colour changing potions with rice maggots, slimy jelly worms and super oozy slime.

After that we focused on fireworks and bonfire night. In maths we practiced answering, ‘How many…?’ questions, ‘How may fireworks can you see?’, ‘How many have stars?’ etc, writing the answers in numeral format. Some of us explored how many ways there are to make the number 10 by finding the missing number in Rocket maths. We also explored making pictures using 2D and 3D shapes. In literacy we thought of some great ways to write firework sounds… ‘eeeeeeeeeeeee’, ‘v,v,v,v,v,v,v;vvvvvvveeeeeee’,  ‘a,a,a,a,a,s,s,s,s’, ‘deeeeeeeeeev’. We used these to create firework night art work using pastels and glitter, so vibrant and sparkly.
