At the end of last week the children wanted to plant seeds, so after the Bank Holiday we made sure the children had the opportunity to do this. Dig, dig, digging and the start of sowing seeds.

Whilst identifying what some flowers look like, Sammy was sure that he wanted pictures of geraniums. Our discussions about growing plants led us to realise we needed a scarecrow and the children set about finding resources and working together to begin its construction.

Whilst telling the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, the children took to being the various characters and acting out their roles. Afterwards, Mimi drew a cat on the whiteboard and names were suggested: ‘Rosie’ (Mimi), ‘Spider’ (Etta) and finally ‘Mr Jones the dinosaur’ (Dahlan).
