We’ve been out on our bikes this week learning about cycling safety and increasing our confidence and ability with cycling on the road.
Back in class, the Y6s have started thinking about the kind of leavers performance they want to perform as part of their transition to secondary school. We’ve had a range of ideas and genres and are quite excited about getting started! It will definitely be fun but it’s top secret so we’ve made a pact not to tell anyone our theme!!
We have also been trying out a new approach to our Friday mornings in class where the children become the teachers. The challenge is for two or three children to teach the class for the morning on a particular theme e.g. science, arts, culture, maths, crafts etc. They need to plan the work, understand what the learning will be and gather the resources necessary. Max and Mayan started this challenge with a Science morning of exciting activities such as designing and making a floating boat with given materials, making a tornado in a bottle, making quick sand and making an erupting volcano. Lots of fun and learning was had by all! Thank you Max and Mayan.
Please note that book and maths clubs next week are the children’s responsibility to prepare.
