How We Do Things

How we do things

The Lewes New School aims to develop whole individuals by helping them to discover their passions through our innovative project-based curriculum. We believe that we are all capable of great things, and that our learning need have no limits.

The pupils at Lewes New School learn in mixed-age groups which we refer to as Nursery, Early Years and Later Years. Children form good relationships with those younger and older than themselves and find greater opportunities to consolidate and extend their learning as necessary.

Our school operates on a Human Scale, with higher than average adult to child ratios and an overall capacity of around 100.

Our ethos is underpinned by a strong sense of mutual respect and authenticity, which pervades all aspects of school and community life. This enables the children to find and express their true spirit, and to move on to Secondary school as courageous and self-motivated individuals with a strong sense of who they are.
