For children in Reception and Year 1 (ages 4 – 6)
We believe children at this stage of development learn best by being actively involved in largely self directed play and practical hands-on experience. They are given plenty of time, space and free access to resources in order to develop their thinking, as well as opportunities to re-visit and consolidate what they have learned.
Around 24 children work with a key teacher and 2 (and just occasionally 1) teaching assistants. The children move freely between two large indoor spaces and one outdoor space.
From the age of 5 children attend full time.
