Trustees

The trustees are long-standing supporters of the school. They bring a clear sense of perspective and oversight and are wholeheartedly committed to maintaining the ethos of the school.

Sharif Horthy is Chair of the trustees. He is Vice-Chair of the Guerrand-Hermès Foundation for Peace, an international think-tank and research institute, whose core aim is to enable the humanity within each individual to flourish. His is dedicated to supporting these principles at LNS. He is also a founder and trustee of the Museum of World Religions.

Prof. Ivor Goodson is Professor of Learning Theory at the Education Research Centre, University of Brighton. He has spent the last 30 years researching, thinking and writing about some of the key and enduring issues in education and has contributed over 50 books and 600 articles to the field.

Dr Scherto Gill, PhD, FRSA, is a research fellow at Guerrand-Hermès Foundation for Peace with expertise in educational research, whole person learning and educational innovation. She is convenor of the MA in Education Studies ‘Person-Centred Education’ at the University of Sussex, and author of several books on education and learning, including Rethinking Secondary Education – A Human-Centred Approach (Pearson Education, June 2012).

Prof. Peter Mobbs BSc, PhD. Professor Emeritus at University College London, neuroscience researcher, formerly head of the Department of Physiology (1999-2004) and latterly Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences at UCL (2004-2009). He has many years experience of large-scale project, financial and human resources management, and a lifelong interest in innovations in teaching and learning and neuroscience as applied to education.

The Trustees are all members of Subud – an international organisation which is open to all faiths and has its own spiritual practice.
